Greetings and things to you all.
Christmas and the New Year went off pretty well and a lot of single malt whisky was consumed. In fact It’s become quite a hobby with me, I’ve got thirteen different bottles at the moment and I’m marking them with marks out of ten. There are hundreds of single malts; so much to drink and so little time. I’ll try my best!
I started a new course of treatment two weeks ago, erlotinib, a new drug on the market that has just finished clinical trials. It does something to the proteins in the cell walls to slow down growth. The side effects are zits. I look like I’ve got measles. My skin is drying out and I have to use shower oil instead of soap and put special cream on the dried out bits. My face looks like the moon, all mountains and craters. I’ve not been feeling too well this last week; I don’t know if it’s the disease or more side effects from the medicine. I have to see Dr Death on the 20th and have an x-ray and blood test so I hope to find out what’s going on then.
Time seems to be flashing by; I seem to be having breakfast every five minutes. God I hate February here, it’s cold wet and grey, it’s been snowing all day but not settling. It doesn’t make me feel like going out but I might force myself to go down the pub and have a couple of warming whiskies. Bring on the spring. I hope you are all fine and all the best,
Love Steve.
